Who really discovered America?

It is a fact that Christopher Columbus came to America in 1492. It is also a fact that at the moment of his arrival there were human beings living in  the amecan continent.. Scientists agree that these people were not originated from the self continent. As a result, someone else came before Columbus to America. There are many controversial theories about who were the first people who did this jorney and what route they took. Many historians have distrusted some of these theories considering them hard to prove. therea are at least 10 theories about the discovery. Some of them are:

2) The African Theory
3)The Mu-Lan-Pi theory
4)Zheng-He theory
5)The Mormon History theory
6) The Japanese theory

So far, non of these theories can be claimed as that which frst stablished  humans beings in the new continent.  Perhaps in the future some new evidence will prove which is right or if a new one will be.

Since I was a little kid, I used to dream about being a teacher and helping other students with the class. In fact, I didn´t see it as a bussiness and I don´t do now. For me, explaining others what I know is like a pas- time. I remember when I was an adolescent. My leisure time I passed it helping my classmates with the homework. No matter if any of my classmates seemed aloof, I just came close to them and asked if they understood the topic. I also remember that my mother suggested me to study english and computer because those subjects were going to be useful in the future. Well, first I studied commputer programming as a career but later I realized that I didn´t enjoy it much. So, now I am finishing Languages at the university and also have some years teaching at high school. I really like it and I think I ended up doing what I like most.

YUEN WOO PING( born in 1945 in Canton, China) is a martial arts choreographer and film director in China, renowned as on of the most important figures in the world of action cinema.

In 1971 Woo Ping received his first commissions as martial arts choreographer.

In 1978 was when he direted her first two films , " The snake in the shade ", and " The drunker master" , surounding himself with actor like Jackie Chan , Sui TienYuen ( him father) , and Jang Lee Hwang . Thes two films are popular and are considered grea classics of martial arts.

It is unbelievable how much cars have advanced. I would like to have an electric car, but the problem is that in this Country electricity is not stable.

Yuen Woo-ping

Yuen Woo-ping (; born 1945 in Guangzhou, China) is a Chinese martial arts choreographer and film director, renowned as one of the most successful and influential figures in the world of Hong Kong action cinema. He is one of the inductees on the Avenue of Stars in Hong Kong. Yuen is also a son of Yuen Siu-tien, a renowned martial arts film actor.

Yuen achieved his first directing credit in 1978 on the seminal Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, starring Jackie Chan, followed quickly by Drunken Master. The films were smash-hits, launching Jackie Chan as a major film-star, turning Seasonal Films into a major independent production company, and starting a trend towards comedy in martial arts films that continues to the present day.

Yuen went on to work with such figures as Sammo Hung in Magnificent Butcher (1979), Yuen Biao in Dreadnaught (1981), Donnie Yen in Iron Monkey (1993), and Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh in Tai Chi Master (1993) and Wing Chun (1994).

Yuen's works, particularly his action choreography on Fist of Legend (1994), attracted the attention of the Wachowski brothers, who hired him as the martial arts choreographer on The Matrix(1999). The success of this collaboration, plus his action choreography on the following year's hit Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, made him a highly sought after figure in Hollywood. He went on to work on the Matrix sequels and Kill Bill (2003).

More recent action choreography duties in Hong Kong cinema have included Kung Fu Hustle (2004), starring Stephen Chow, and Fearless (2006), starring Jet Li.

Yuen also choreographed the action sequences in The Forbidden Kingdom (2008), a Hollywood martial arts-adventure film, which was the first film to star together two of the best-known names in the martial arts film genre, Jackie Chan and Jet Li. He worked as a fight choreography consultant on Ninja Assassin (2009), and as a stunt coordinator for his first Indian film, Enthiran (2010), directed by S. Shankar.

In late 2010, Yuen released his first film as director since 1996, True Legend, starring Vincent Zhao and Jay Chou.

 An urban legend is a story that is so bizarre, horrifying, or unexplainable, that it makes something inside of us want to believe it. Urban Legends can have traced origins from other countries,universities, states, or people, that just decided to made up as incredible story and pass it on to their friends and family members.

Many of these legends were started in the sixties and seventies,
and still continue to be passed on to this day. A good example, is
the horrifying Pop Rocks death. 2"In the seventies ,school kids
passed on the rumor that if Pop Rocks candy was eaten with any
kind of soda, the person's insides would explode". A legend that
eventually forced the candy company to prove as untrue.
Most urban legends are began with "friend of a friend", which is
a key in realizing that what you are going to hear is probably untrue.

My Dream Business

It has always been a dream of mine to one day open and run a small business. I feel that I know myself well, and that this career field would suit me best. Rather than have one large company that brought in a sufficient income annually, I prefer to have multiple small businesses which in turn lead to large profit margins. I get bored easily, and this variety of work will keep me motivated and happy through the rest of my working life. However in order to achieve my life dreams of running these businesses, there are certain steps I must climb first to accomplish my goals. I realize that education in this field is a necessity that will go a long way on my journey to the top. I do however plan on graduating from the Autonomous University of Ssanto Domingo and making vast amounts of money within seven years of my completion of college.I am planning on launching my own English institute which will periodically branch out.

BASE BALL

There is only one way of putting it. Baseball is to America what cricket is to Indians.

Yes, Americans sleep, eat and drink baseball. One might wonder what Americans like about a game the rest of the world finds slow moving at best. What it is about baseball that it is touted as America’s national pastime?

The baseball game is divided into nine periods of play, each of which is called an inning. At the end of nine innings the team that has scored the most runs is the winner. The pitcher throws a ball towards the batter of the opposing team.

The batter tries to hit the ball into the baseball field. Runs are scored by hitting the ball and running around a series of bases before a player in the field can put them out.

On the surface baseball is like any other ball game. There is a bat, a ball, and players. However, Americans beg to differ. They insist it’s not just about “hit and run.”

Baseball is simple enough for a child to understand. At the same time, the subtlety in its plan of action keeps the oldies involved as well. The Americans argue that the slow pace of the game is what makes it so great to watch. The ‘action’ and the ‘rest action’ of baseball allow for conversation and ‘fixing and eating’ a hot dog, another American favorite.

Perhaps that is the reason why Americans watch it in pubs as well. Americans believe that baseball is for someone with passion. Fans insist that there is no sound sweeter than the cracking of the glove from the upper deck from a 95mph fast ball.

  Smart Cars are  examples of nowadays technology development that our world is experiencing. Thus, these fabulous cars are full of peculiarities and characteristics that make them very different from those normal cars.  For instance, these smart cars could be self-drivens ones. That is, these cars could drive their owners, though. However, the fact that these cars could have a very big amount of gadgets in order for them to be effectively driven makes them somewhat difficult to drive. As a conclusion, these cars really show how advanced we are in terms of technology. Nevertheless, I do not really think that we are yet ready for them. Besides, people would not believe these cars at first glance that easily.

First of all, having my own company is something for what I have always dreamt of since very early in my life. Similarly, I drive myself crazy with the idea of coming true my own project. So, my dream project is a bilingual institute, an school academy where I can really supply all the cognitive needs that our society lacks of in order to make  so important steps forward as a country. Thus, this super institute will definitely strive for helping people overcome some barriers that they face in the attempt of mastering a target language. I will doubtless provide the best environment possible for people to feel very comfortable at learning a target language. Besides, they will be treated quite well for them to gain that state of trust that is required when trying to learn a foreign language. Finally, this project will include the hiring and help of new young language teachers that are beginning their career. This given opportunity to them will help them be emerged in their areas and so will develop in a very satisfactory way.

     Gravity is the energy that keeps us stable on earth. The law of Gravity was discovered by Newton when he saw an apple falling on the floor, then he understood that there is  an energy or strength  that attracts objects towards the earth . However, the intensity of  gravity varies depending on the place, if it is mountainous or flat. Thanks to gravity our can be organized.

   Near Earth, we cannot ever escape from the pull of gravity. However, there have  been men that have defied the law of gravity by keeping themselves on air for various seconds such as: basketball players, martial artists and so on..  but nobody has not been able to keep on air all the time. So far, for a person to keep on air for a lot of time then, that person needs a plane or a helicopter because it is impossible for a human being to float on earth for a lot of time due to the law of gravity.

    Nevertheless,  small objects can be levitated by using an effect called diamagnetism. Superconductors are strongly diamagnetic, meaning that they magnetize in a way that tends to push them out of strong field regions. Superconductors can be levitated fairly easily. People, however are either not diamagnetic or not diamagnetic enough to levitate. It also hurts that we are so large, which limits how rapidly the field strength can vary over the region our bodies occupy. Tiny frogs are diamagnetic enough to be levitated by very strong magnets.

So, I have some instructions that will help you in the process of starting a business. 

   First of all, before starting a business is important to write a business plan in order to organize every single thing that you are going to spend. Then, it is very important to choose a suitable name for the company that you are going to run. This part seems simple and not relevant, but, actually it is quite significant when it comes to business, therefore, you have to take your time to choose a name for your company that is related with what the company offers. Once you have a name and you have registered the name, then you will need a business Bank account.  Try to be unique! 

   When you already have you own company, try to remember that you can not neglect anything because If you neglect your business you may fail, so you have to be very careful with everything you do otherwise, you may ruin all what you have worked for!

   

Urban Legends

      In every country there are always legends  such as: ghosts, UFOs, aliens, witches, etc ... Here in Dominican Republic these stories always crop up in fields or areas remote from urbanization. Most of these stories has come up since decades ago. One of my favorite is the famous case of "The Queen of the Americas", from which, by the way, the film producer Alfonso Rodriguez made a mini series where dramatized this legend. This film became very famous!

      It turns out that not long ago'The Queen of the Americans" was walking in the  South Mirador , Salud Avenue around 10:00 pm. According to a testimony from a student that studies The Autonomous University Of Santo Domingo, he went out with a friend in his car, then when he was approaching  the Avenue he saw her, and he got so scared that he  accelerated his car as much as he could. When he got home he fell down on his knees and made some prayers before getting in bed!


   For those that do not know  where the legend came from, I will give you a brief story about it. It all starts in the Dominican Republic, where some years ago was reported the death of Natalia Coss, a  young beautiful girl , and a former local beauty queen, to which she was known popularly as "the queen of the people". Natalia had everything a girl could wish for: she was beautiful, lived well, and was engaged to a handsome young musician. After  several years of courtship  with this musician,  they decided to get married, after the celebration, Natalia and her  husband, traveled down the highway of Las Americas, Dominican Republic, in the direction of the international airport, where they would take a plane to get to their honeymoon. The night was a bit rainy and the highway was wet, then suddenly a car went through and the young musician of the car lost control, crashing into one of the retaining walls, being the end of the young couple, in which only was recovered the body of the young girl in pieces.
      A month after the accident, it began to be reported testimonies of people saying that when it rained, they saw a young woman in a wedding dress roaming at the highway. Several men claimed to have seen her, but there was no evidence, so the case was closed. Weeks later, a taxi driver was going down the highway on a rainy night, and saw the girl at a roadside, he stopped and, after talking with her, decided to take her home. Along the way, the driver and Natalia talked about several things. It was raining heavily, so the taxi driver lent the girl a coat while he said "Do not worry, I will come tomorrow  for it "after that,  the young girl got out of the car and entered into the house. The next day, the driver went to the house of the girl to get his coat, upon arrival, knocked on the door, opening an old lady.The driver asked for Natalia, but she told him that she had died a few months ago. The taxi driver,not believing this, told him what had happened the night before, the woman returned to explain that her daughter was dead, and that if he did not believe it, then he could go to the cemetery where the tomb of the young girl was. The driver decided to go with the lady to see the tomb. At the cemetery, the mother of the deceased girl guided him to the grave of his daughter. There he found the coat with a note that said: "Thanks, it was very useful."
      After that, multiple investigations have been made, but still no one knows exactly who seeks the young queen, maybe one more time on Earth, perhaps the person who went through his car that fateful night, or perhaps the body of his loved husband.

Smart cars will improve the Dominican’s economic because not license will be required. So we can save a lot of money if driver license won’t be bought! Since a lot of people buy its driver’s license nowadays, because they don’t know how to drive and they are driving.

The combination of intelligent cars and computerized roads will make driving so easy. The only thing that “drivers” will need is to be able to operate a system like GPS to feed the origin and destination. It will be amazing! But we need to think about the cost of that technology. Imagin you! If we have a lot of problem with “the metro! How we will manage this type of technology!

I think it is a catchy name since people will be represented with this name because I’ll try to sale cheaper than others groceries stores, to clients can buy more for less.

A grocery store is a profitable business because people need food everyday not matter the economic, so is difficult a grocery store go bankrupt.

If I sale good services and cheapest, my dream company will be the best one.

  Urban legends are ways of a modern or an old folklore, which it consists in the telling of stories that may or may not be true. Hence, all types of stories have been told throughout the time and  as they have been repeatedly told over and over again, many of them are believed. Nevertheless, it is fair to mention that parts of these stories are told in order to warn people from doing things that might harm them. An example of this is, once in my community a story developed and lasted during a very considerable time. The story was about a dreadful creature called by local people “Chupacabra”, so, people used to say that this kind of animal ripped advocate and banana trees. Moreover, it could hurt people robbing smallholdings at nights. It was obvious that the community people were only preventing thieves from stealing their agriculture by telling this legends.

  The short story “the man who saw the flood” written by Richard Wright is about a poor family that has gone through a great deal of struggles; besides, the family also has to bear racism something that was well manifested back in those times. This family just got through a devastating flood that ended with all their belongings. However, they keep their chins up and make up their mind to start from scratches. Despite all the troubles, a very wealthy man, Mr. Burguess comes over and demands Tom to pay the debt. As expected, Tom is not able to pay him back so he takes Tom to a place where he can respond for what he owes.  This is clearly the perfect reflection and example of many families that endure these sorts of hardships in life. They are discriminated and taken away for the economical, political and material power of some wealthy and high-call people

one night my my fether told me about a woman who came to visit her friends . and he never thought ,she  was a witch but at night when  they were sleeping  they heard something that fell and went to see who it was and saw nothing , but the next day  it happened  the  same ,the neighbors discovered that  she was the witch because she  fell in the yard and was converted into animals , no body belived.

 What National baseball meant and means to me.
     When I was a little kid, I do not remember having any kind of attraction about baseball. This changed when I was about eleven. I started to observe my father watching national baseball games on TV. I remember about how much he enjoyed the games. The entire neighborhood -almost at the same time- cheered when Los Tigres del Licey did a hit (most of the people in Santo Domingo city were Liceistas at that time). At first, their behavior because of a simple game seemed funny to me. I did not understand why those people felt so excited about simple games. I really started to like watching the games, specially those matches between Las Aguilas y Los Tigres. My passion lasted some years but on the heels of some other teams were emerging, my enthusiasm decreased. I guess baseball team´s owners were most interested about lucrative aspects than the feelings of the audience. Recently, I watched the baseball world series and I could not hide my emotion when the dominican team won the 9 games consecutive. I am not the best national baseball fan, but I feel very happy to see how dominican baseball players are revered worldwide because of defeating their rivals. Dominican baseball players are among the best!!!!!!!!

The Master is Yuen Woo-Ping the eldest of twelve children born in China. Choreographer and director who mastered lot of martial marts and choreography in his movies and some famous movies as Matrix, Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Snake in the Eagle´s Shadow starring Jackie Chan and Kill Bill sequels. He mastered wire work where actors seem like flying in movies, swordsmanship and other climbing and surreal fighting scenes. He worked with Ang Lee.

Ang Lee is the director of the Life of Pi film in 2012 a movie that won the academic awards for the best special effects. It says Yuen and Ang Lee´s combination make a mastership of masters in films area the creators of a lot of films that win prizes and awards around the world.

The Name Game

The company of my dreams is a beauty center. I´ll like to call it Renna´s AIO Beauty Center. The name´s meaning is Renewing Anyone and it´s a nice name (Renna) All in One (AIO) Beauty Center.

I´ll be the owner.

It shall have a complete beauty Salon with Spa including Manicure, Pedicure, Gym, Massage Center, Maybe a Mini-Bar, Exercises for unstressing, a Mini-Market with products to maintain women beauty always at top. It´ll include healthy food and also creams and all products we use in the Beauty Center if our costumers want to open their new company to help us to be more beautiful. Maybe it can be a Beauty Mall, women heaven where we can find ourselves and happiness overflow us

The Galipote ~ The Lugaru ~ The Drone

The magical tradition that realize the power of men who can turn into animals, is embodied in our legends in the figure of Galipote. However, Galipote also called the man who becomes inanimate objects such as tree trunks and stones, the one who transfers his consciousness to an animal, and that magical powers have become an animal for various purposes. 

According to the belief the galipotes are cruel and violent, tremendous strength and incredible immunity to weapon. Other legends say that these creatures just like people do bad things, such as prevent passage nightwalkers, or scare them in dark areas. There are few places in the country as places galipotes taken, and when the traveler must cross them uses spells and amulets to ward off these creatures. The galipote which becomes Lugaru called dog. This word comes from the French loup-garou, which means the legendary werewolf or werewolf of universal lycanthropic legend. Our Lugaru is a legacy of European magical tradition with African elements, and as there are no wolves in the Caribbean, is the dog that embodies it. Moreover, the walking stride galipote high rise or become night bird flies, drone or zancu called. It is said that this creature sucks the blood of children in the evenings and is linked to alleged sexual activities with children. They say they also can become invisible. People who know of these beings, argue that they are immune to the branch of a tree popularly called "cross stick", which has to be cut on Holy Friday. Others say it is necessary to use a knife that has been blessed with water and salt.

    In our country, Baseball is a serious thing! Dominicans are very passionate for this sport, which is one of the most famous worldwide. Dominican baseball players are very good hence all Dominicans are crazy about baseball. What makes a sport interesting and exciting is when players give everything to win, and also, when they let fans feel part of the game. In our Country, the Tournament of baseball has taken root since every year the energy and adrenaline can be felt during that time. The stadiums get crowded and the ratings on TV are a scandal! I love this sport!

Urban legend

An urban legend, urban myth, urban tale, or contemporary legend, is a form of modern folklore  consisting of stories that may or may not have been believed by their tellers to be true. As with all folklore and mythology, the designation suggests nothing about the story's veracity, but merely that it is in circulation, exhibits variation over time, and carries some significance that motivates the community in preserving and propagating it.

Despite its name, an urban legend does not necessarily originate in an urban. Rather, the term is used to differentiate modern legend from traditional folklore in pre-industrial times. For this reason sociologist and folklorists prefer the term contemporary legend.

Here it is I think the most popular urban legend  in the Dominican republic:

EL CUCO 

El cuco is a mythical monster whose origins can be traced to Spain. The legend of El Cuco is used through out Spain and Latin America as a fright tool to make children go to sleep. It is very similar to the Boogy Man in USA. There is no real description of this mythical being. It is as if he has no form or shape. It is just a being that is more felt than seen. Parents and grandparents alike tell the children if they do not go to sleep and fast that El Cuco will come and take them.

So be careful if you can't sleep and you see a shadow passing near your bed. It could be El Cuco....

*A few artists have used the name. Cuco Valoy, a Dominican salsa and merengue singer makes many references to El Cuco. Tonio Rosario has an album named "La Magia de El Cuco". There is a trip music festival in Puerto Rico that uses the name of this nocturnal faceless creature.
