BASEBALL IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

In the Dominican Republic developed the Dominican Winter Baseball League (LIDOM), is currently the highest quality professional league in the Caribbean and Central America and takes place in the autumn-winter season. LIDOM has 6 teams that regularly compete for a championship, a semifinal and a final series which determines the national champion.The teams belonging to this league are Aguilas Cibaenas, Tigres Del Licey, Leones Del Escogido, Estrellas Orientales, Toros Del Este and Gigantes Del Cibao.
In the Dominican Republic baseball are very popular because is a principal sport for enjoyed the people. Licey is the older teams in this country.

Las Aguilas Cibaeñas has been won 20 competitions.

Los Tigres Del Licey has been won 22.

Los Leones del Escogido has been won 14.

Las Estrellas Orientales has been won 3.

Los Toros del Este has been won 1.

Los Gigantes del Cibao have not won any so far.

Almost every year the final are between Las Aguilas and Licey, I think that’s because they are the best.The teams who win the final series at the country go to la Series del Caribe in representation of the Dominican Republic. Many important Dominican players whom play in the winter series are:

I think that the baseball in the Dominican Republic is a business because the people do not respect the others and if anyone annoying to owners of the teams they get fired, so if someone is not the accord can express about that because if not want to lose the position have to stay stay silent.

The Name Game," or "The Banana Song", is a children's singalong rhyming game that creates variations on a person's name. It was written by singer Shirley Ellis with Lincoln Chase, and Ellis' recording, produced by Charles Calello, was released in late 1964 (see 1964 in music) as "The Name Game." Ellis performed "The Name Game" on major television programs of the day, including Hullabaloo, American Bandstand, and Merv Griffin. "The Name Game" has been recorded by dozens of recording artists in the years since, notably Laura Branigan, whose version produced by Jeff Lorber, appearing on her 1987 album Touch, features a classroom of third-grade schoolchildren singing along to the tongue-twisting game. The Brazilian singer Xuxa recorded a song using the same play and same sample in the song "Jogo da Rima". Often covered by relative unknowns on collections of songs for children, other cover versions have been recorded by artists as diverse (and campy) as Dean Ford and the Gaylords (1965), Divine (1980), and Soupy Sales (2002). In 1982, Stacy Lattisaw took her "rap" recording of "Attack of the Name Game" to #79 on the Hot 100. In 1993, this song was used on television as an advertisement for Little Caesar's Pizza.
