Baseball in Dominican Republic

Baseball is one of the most loved, followed, and attracted sport around Dominican Republic. People really like baseball, especially when the wintertime comes, since the winter tournament takes place here. The cibaeña eagles and the licey tigers are the most popular teams; they have developed a very strong rivalry during the past years. Every time they face each other, a sellout is expected, and more if they are playing in the final series. However, this has not been the case in recent years. Others surging teams have been playing extremely well accordingly such a rivalry has been a bit forgotten about it. Anyway, people certainly enjoy the game of baseball in and out of our country. It has been so that nowadays the Major League Baseball (MLB) counts with the most non-native baseball players’ amount. That is a heck of a pride for our entire nation, Dominican Republic. Doubtless, this vastly helps this country take some important steps forward; besides, young hard-worker people envision a potential thriving dream coming true as they keep themselves away from taking the wrong side of life.
