URBAN LEYEND
BLOODY MARY
A long time ago there was a little girl named Mary. She grew very ill and fell into a deep coma. The local doctor was old and feeble and without knowing any better, he believed she was dead. He informed the family and they had a funeral and buried the poor girl alive! Mary’s family lived very close to the graveyard where she was laid to rest. The first night, Mary’s mother thought that she heard a scream coming from Mary’s grave, but no one believed her. Days later, Mary’s mother convinced the family to dig up her grave. When they did, they found Mary dead, but they also saw scratches on the top of the coffin and Mary’s fingernails were bloody from her efforts to escape the grave.
Now if you follow these instructions, you may be able to see Mary for yourself. At midnight on Friday the 13th, turn off all the lights in your house. Go to the bathroom and turn on the water in the shower and the sink. Flush the toilet, look into the mirror and say “Bloody Mary” 5 times. She will appear in mirror. You need to hurry and turn on the light or she will stab you in the back.
Another Version
Just watched this week’s "Ghost Whisperer" which features the Urban Legend of Bloody Mary. Their version of the tale goes like this…
A towns local Dr. and his wife had an only child, a daughter named Mary. As a teen, Mary came down with Diphtheria, which was incurable at the time. The Dr. pronounced his child dead and felt they needed to bury her right away. They buried the girl in a wooden coffin and tied a string to her wrist, threading it up through the ground and tying the other end of a bell which they hung on a hook above the grave. If she was wrongfully pronounced dead, she would wake up and ring the bell and they could dig up the grave.
The girl’s mother would not leave the grave and her husband feared she would die of exposure if she didn’t come inside. He gave her an injection of morphine and brought her into the house.
The next morning when the father visited the grave of his daughter, he noticed that the bell had been rung "off the hook" and was now laying on the ground. He immediately began to dig, but his efforts were too late. Mary was dead by the time they got to her, but when she had woken in the night, she had scratched and clawed at the top of the coffin. Her hands were all bloody and her nails were stuck in the wood of the coffin.
The way to call her, according to their version, is to stand alone in the dark in front of a mirror and say her name 3 times, turning around in place after each time. After the third time you will see her behind you in the mirror and she will scare you to death.

Baseball
Since I was a child I have enjoyed baseball because my uncles taught me to see the baseball games and to go to the stadium. Sometimes I went to see the game with my parents, my father plays baseball too, but the origin of my preference for the baseball as my favorite sport is from my uncles.
my father wanted to see me practicing volleyball, but I don´t like it so much.
My uncles taught me some rules about baseball and I practiced with them at the yard and at a little satdium behind my grandmother´s house. Every sunday´s morning I woke up early to helped my uncles to prepare their bags and to went with them at the stadium, there I picked the balls, the gloves, etc.
At the stadium the one that is behind my grandmother´s house my uncles practice sotball all weekends softball. The softball is a team game commonly played in the United States and other countries. It is a direct descendant of baseball although some key differences are that softballs are larger than baseballs and the pitches are thrown underhand rather than overhand. Softball is played on a smaller diamond than in baseball; a softball field's average distances from home plate to the center, left and right field fences are 220, 200 and 200 feet respectively (the corresponding baseball field average distances are 410, 325 and 325 feet). Despite the game's name, the standard softball is not soft; in fact, it is just as hard as a baseball.
I just practiced softball for two months with some guys, I left to practice bacuse my father hates that and I didn´t have his autorization to practice it.
I know that I was a bad player,I had some problems since I was practicing, I was afraid to catch the balls , when I was under the ball I moved suddenly because I thought that the ball was to hit my head, another problem was that I didn´t want to dirty my clothes when I have to slide into the diamond, it sounds funny and stupid but it was true.
But I have a good skill practicing softball, I was an excellent pitcher. Nevertheless I left to practiced because I didn´t have enough time to practice rigidly and to grew my experiences as a player.
Nowdays I just see baseball from the bleechers and on tv, I love baseball, I know that it is weird in a girl, I enjoy to cheer in the stadium and to see the games.
In my house there is a big back yard, five years ago more o less I used it as a satadium with my brothers amd my cousins and some friends, the mango and the orange trees helped us to made the diamond in the yard. We practiced twice a week at the afternoons, it was our pastime , our games had a goodwill sense.
My favorite dominican baseball team is Licey, the blue team, the tigers.
Here I have some informations about doninican baseball that I want to share:
Professional Baseball in the Dominican Republic has evolved dramatically in its 100-year history. Originally there were two professional teams in the entire country; today the league consists of five teams. Santo Dominigo has two teams, Tigres del Licey, and Leones de Escojido; San Pedro de Macoris has Estrellas Orientales; Santiago has Aguilas del Cibao; and La Romana has Azucareros del Este. Each team play a sixty game schedule that begins the end of October and runs to February. The season ends in a round-robin play-off with the two finalist advancing to the Caribbean Series to play against the champions of Mexico Venezuela and Puerto Rico.
Major League Baseball of the Dominican Republic began to gain international attention in the early 50's. Ozzie Virgil was the first Dominican to play Major League baseball in the United States. By the mid-50's,driven by the success of Juan Marichal and the three Alou brothers, Major League Baseball in the Dominican Republic had become internationally recognized as the home of Winter Baseball.

Dominican Republic Baseball
From the sugar mill towns of 'San Pedro de Macrois',and 'La Romana', to fields all across the D.R., young, poor kids dream of someday playing major league baseball and bringing financial security to their families. The D.R. has a passion for baseball far and above anywhere else.
For Dominican Republic baseball, from late October to January, when the sugar mills are slow, a baseball season is born. It is the big leagues for Dominican ball players who dream of making it big. It's where their fantasies can come true. To play well and to be seen by major league scouts. It is also a time when current major leaguers can come home and play in their winterball season.
Since the 50's when Ozzie Virgil made Dominican Republic baseball famous by playing in the major leagues, we have seen more and more players make the transition and do it well. The Alou brothers, and currently, Sammie Sosa. Who could be bigger? Manny Ramirez, Pedro Martinez, and more.
When the ten year war (1868-1878) in Cuba brought turmoil to the country, many Cubans fled their country and migrated to the D.R. bringing with them the game called "Baseball" or "Beisbol. Dominicans were quick to learn the game and soon organized teams.
The national sport and passion of Dominican Republic is baseball or "Beisbol" as the Dominicans call it. No matter where you go on the island you will find a baseball stadium/park, even in the poorest of towns. Today more than one in six players in the American league is from Latin America, the majority of them coming from the towns located on the southeastern coast Dominican Republic.
Each year, from October to January, fans of the Dominican Republic Baseball support their favorite team. Games are held at the Quisqueya Stadium in Santo Domingo and at stadiums in Santiago, San Pedro de Macoris, and La Romana. If you are in the D.R. during this time, not only can you take in the beautiful beaches, but you have to take in a ball game. The passion for this sport is like no other for Dominicans all over.
WHAT TEAMS PLAY IN THE DOMINICAN?
Leon del Escogido Santo Domingo Estrellas Orientales San Pedro de Macorís
Azucareros del Este La Romana
Aguilas Cibaeñas Santiago
Pollos Nacionales San Francisco de Macorís
Tigers del Licey Santo Domingo
When the teams finish their season, the winner will vie for the Carribean World Series, among other latin countries. Not only is the season incredible, teams also feature american ballplayers that are trying to make it to the big leagues. When an organization has a top prospect and they want him to gain more experience, they will send him to a winterball league to hone his skills. So you will be seeing incredible baseball with incredible players and incredible fans!
Bill Bathe is a former major leaguer who played in the 1989 world series with the San Fransisco Giants. Bill has been tutored by such greats as Eddie Matthews, Harmon Killebrew, and Billy Williams to name a few.
